Motilal Oswal Foundation brought the stars in the reach of children through the unique initiative of ‘mobile planetarium’. During the span of 10 days a portable planetarium mesmerised close to 4000 students in 11 schools at Wada. The dome shaped planetarium gives the feeling of sitting under the sky, it was for the very first time that the children experienced something like this. The students were thrilled to learn about the solar system, rockets and space through this initiative.
MO Foundation is committed to improve the quality of education and enhance educational facilities for the students at Wada region. Under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan all students till 8th STD receive free text books from the Government. However, there is no such provision for the 9th & 10th STD. Majority of students at Wada have limited family income, thus buying text books was a liability for them. To help the students to have access to the text-books MO Foundation has created Book Bank at 9 schools of Wada benefitting 500+ students.
We are thrilled to introduce children to the magical world of books. Motilal Oswal Foundation initiated Let's Read Program with United Way Mumbai at a school in Wada. Now every classroom has a dedicated library with books specially curated as per the reading levels of the children. The children were super excited to take out books from the bag and explore them.
Many students do not get guidance at home to select the course post SSC; some just follow
their peers. As a result a lot of children end up making wrong decisions which severely
affect their future.
MOF organizes Career Counseling sessions for students of 9th and 10th STD. These sessions
were started with the aim to help students make an informed choice about the stream of
study to select after SSC. The session gives them an insight of numerous courses to choose
from based on their interest and aptitude.
Mr. Raamdeo Agrawal (Founder & JMD MOFSL) is extremely passionate about interacting and
guiding the young learners. Interactive sessions with Mr. Agrawal are organized at school
or at Motilal Oswal Tower.
The students are also given a tour of the office building whereby they interact with
employees and come to know about different prospects in the financial sector.
Mathematics, though one of the most crucial subject is feared by thousands of students
across India. The solution lies in making it easy and fun to learn through hands-on
examples. For this very purpose, the Foundation is supporting Adhayayan Sanstha to
implement Learning Enhancement Program in schools of Vasai and Vikramgad block.
The program aims to help middle school children to explore mathematics and improve
numerical skills. At the end of the program the students will be equipped with operations
on fractions, decimal fractions and assigning appropriate signs in additions and
subtractions.
Following our vision "to help people move from poverty and dependence to self-reliance"; the Foundation initiated pilot skill development program at Chhattisgarh. The program aims to equip rural youth with the necessary skills for self-employment as well as to make them employable.
