How to check your PAN card status on the Protean (formerly NSDL) website?

You can check the PAN status on the TIN-NSDL website with or without the acknowledgement number.

1. Check PAN card status using the acknowledgement number

Here’s how you can track your PAN card status on the Protean website using the acknowledgement number:

Step 1: Go to https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/pantan/StatusTrack.html. You will land on the “Track your PAN/TAN Application Status” page

Step 2: Under the “Application Type” section, hit on “PAN- New/Change requested” option

Step 3: Now enter your 15-digit acknowledgement number. You are given this number while submitting your PAN application or change request 

Step 4: Enter the captcha provided and click “Submit”, after which the current status of your PAN application will be displayed

2. Check PAN card status without acknowledgement number 

You can also check your PAN card application status on the TIN-NSDL website without an acknowledgement number. Here’s how:

Step 1: Go to the “Track your PAN/TAN Application Status” page on the official website of TIN-NSDL

Step 2: Choose PAN- New/Change Request option under the “Application Type” section

Step 3: Pick the “Name” option to track PAN status without acknowledgement number 

Step 4: Enter your complete name and date of birth 

Step 5: After furnishing the necessary details, click “Submit”

How to check your PAN card status on the UTIITSL website?

You can check the PAN status on the UTIITSL website with the PAN or coupon number.

Step 1: Visit https://www.trackpan.utiitsl.com/PANONLINE/#forward

Step 2: Furnish the coupon number you were given at the time of your PAN application

Step 3: Provide the necessary details asked, enter the captcha and click “Submit” 

Step 4: The website will show your PAN application status on the screen 

2. Consider PAN card status check by PAN number 

Here’s how you can know about your PAN status through the PAN number:

Step 1: Visit https://www.trackpan.utiitsl.com/PANONLINE/#forward

Step 2: Furnish the PAN number (in case you have applied for correction or change in your existing PAN card)

Step 3: Provide the necessary details asked, enter the captcha and click “Submit” 

Step 4: The website will show your PAN application status on the screen 

How to check PAN card status via call?

If you applied for a PAN through TIN-NSDL or Protean, you can check your PAN card status via a call in the following way:

  • Call the TIN call centre at 020-27218080
  • Furnish the 15-digit acknowledgement number 
  • The status of your application will be shared with you 

How to check PAN card status via SMS?

An SMS is one of the simplest ways of checking your PAN card application status if you have applied via the TIN-NSDL:

  • Send an SMS including “NSDLPAN” and your 15-digit acknowledgement number at “57575”
  • You will receive an SMS update about your PAN card status
