NSE to launch Nifty Next 50 F&O
The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) on Thursday announced the launch of futures and options contracts (F&O) on Nifty Next 50 index. The move is likely part of a series of steps being taken by the India’s largest stock exchange to regain some of the market share it lost to rival BSE over the last year. NSE will launch monthly F&O contracts on the junior Nifty 50 index from April 24.

Mid-day Mood | Market trades in red as Middle-East crisis deepens
Sensex and Nifty trimmed earlier losses but continued to trade in the red on April 19 amid a broad-based selloff. Investors traded on the sidelines after Israel's attack on Iran fuelled uncertainity across market. As a result, fear gauge India VIX jumped over 4%. Around noon, the Sensex was down 244.94 points or 0.34% at 72,244.05, and the Nifty was down 80.10 points or 0.36% at 21,915.70.
