Indices touch new peaks, Sensex tops 77,000 mark
India's equity benchmarks, Sensex and Nifty, reached new highs, with Sensex closing above 77,000 for the first time, gaining 308.3 points (0.4%) to 77,301.1, and Nifty rising 92.3 points (0.39%) to 23,557.9.
