Sebi’s circular on cross margin benefits
SEBI has released a circular on extending cross margin benefits for offsetting positions having different expiry dates. The circular would be effective three months from its date of issuance i.e., July 23, 2024. The regulator further stated that the circular is being issued to protect the interests of investors in securities and to regulate the securities market.

RBI bars Kotak Bank from adding customers digitally
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) barred Kotak Mahindra Bank from signing up new customers through its online and mobile banking channels, and issuing fresh credit cards, among the toughest curbs imposed on a scheduled bank. The regulator said Kotak had failed to fix its IT systems after being asked to do so continuously over the past two years.
