India's palm oil imports surge to 1-year high in August

India's palm oil imports in August rose 15.76% to 990,528 metric tons, the highest level in over a year, surpassing 1 million tons with total edible oil imports at 1.62 million tons. Soyoil imports decreased 25.27% to 367,917 tons, while sunflower oil imports rose 28.53% to 257,080 tons. The increase in palm oil imports could help Indonesia and Malaysia reduce inventories.
