Gold prices level off, investors question next move

After hitting fresh all-time highs for 3 straight sessions, Gold prices on MCX cooled off on Friday, opening lower by 0.61% at Rs 1,16,866/10 grams, amid U.S. interest rate cut expectations and a U.S. government shutdown. Silver futures contracts declined 1.5% to Rs 1,42,500/kg. International gold prices were steady at $3,851.99 per ounce.
