Spot gold rose 0.4% to $3,989.49 per ounce on Friday, logging a 2.7% gain this week after U.S. President Donald Trump warned of possible tariffs on China. Gold also briefly reached a high of $4,022.52 after trading above $4,000 an ounce, supported by safe-haven demand and expectations of a US rate cut.
