Forex reserves surge to $698.3 billion

India's forex reserves rose by USD 4.038 billion to USD 698.268 billion, driven by a USD 3.530 billion increase in gold reserves. The reserves are near the all-time high of USD 704.89 billion. Foreign currency assets, the largest component, rose by USD 540 million. This growth follows previous yearly increases of USD 58 billion in 2023, USD 20 billion in 2024, and USD 60 billion so far in 2025.
