Rupee strengthens with dollar decline

The rupee opened 52 paise higher at 88.27 against the dollar as the dollar index eased after US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell hinted at rate cuts. Powell signalled another potential rate cut this month, and Fed Boston President Susan Collins supported rate cuts to support the labour market, contributing to a capital inflow into India.
