Rupee rises slightly against US dollar in early trade

The rupee showed a slight recovery, trading at 88.63 against the US dollar in early trade, up 5 paise from its previous closing level, on lower crude prices and foreign capital infusion. Brent crude fell 1.29% to $62.56 per barrel, and the Sensex declined 172.32 points to 85,460.36. Foreign investors bought ₹283.65 crore of equities on a net basis on Thursday.
