When you tap your Indian credit card, the machine shows the amounts in Japanese Yen (¥8,000) and Indian Rupees (₹4,800). The Indian Rupees figure is actually the approximate exchange rate equivalent, not the actual amount charged to your card. However, some card issuers may use fixed exchange rates or round off the conversion, causing the actual charge to be different from the shown figure.
