You can have multiple PPF accounts in specified situations

One PPF account per individual is allowed by govt rules, applicable to all banks & post offices. It isn't possible to open accounts with multiple banks or institutions to save more, & duplicating accounts can result in irregular accounts being closed with forfeited interest. A PPF account for a minor child does not count as 2nd account for the adult, but combined annual contributions are limited.
