Jindal Steel to acquire thyssenkrupp's European steel business

Jindal Steel International, an overseas subsidiary of Naveen Jindal-owned Jindal Steel, is in talks with thyssenkrupp AG to acquire its European steel business, thyssenkrupp Steel Europe. Jindal Steel has submitted a non-binding bid, committing to support thyssenkrupp's decarbonisation plan with a €2 billion investment, including a DRI project and electric arc furnace in Germany.
