Insurers must refund GST savings to customers

Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India chairperson Ajay Seth asked insurers to pass benefits of GST removal on life and health insurance premiums to customers, creating an opportunity to expand access and affordability. From September 22, individual life and health policies will attract zero tax, down from 18%. Insurers were also urged to step up efforts in reaching rural markets.
