European Commission Issues €19.5-Million Demand Notice to Unichem Labs

Unichem Labs received a demand notice from the European Commission seeking €19.49 million for breaching EU competition law over a perindopril patent dispute set in 2005. The notice includes €13.97 million in principal penalty and €5.52 million interest, with €16.70 million still payable. Unichem had provisioned for the principal penalty but will need to account for the interest liability in FY26.
