Vedanta Denied Cambay Basin Extension

The government rejected Vedanta group firm Vedanta Cairn Oil and Gas's application for extension of the contract for the Cambay basin oil and gas block CB-OS/2. The block, with 3,400 barrels of oil per day production, currently holds ONGC as the operator. A 10% stake belongs to Invenire, and Vedanta held 40%. ONGC will take over operations in the interim.
