Nifty recovers from lows to end with gains

The NSE Nifty 50 index fell 33 points to 25,170, and the S&P BSE Sensex slipped 58 points to 82,102. However, a late surge in banking and metal stocks cushioned the fall. The Nifty Bank rose 225 points, led by gains from IndusInd Bank and Axis Bank, while metal stocks gained nearly 1% on firm global commodity prices.
