Bank Nifty recovers 500 pts, driven by PSU banks

Bank Nifty rebounded 500 points, closing 0.4% higher, after two consecutive losses. Top gainers included AU Small Finance Bank (4% to Rs 731.65), State Bank of India (1.68% to Rs 869.60) named a top pick by CLSA, and Axis Bank with a price target raised by HSBC to Rs 1,340. Nifty PSU Bank ended over 1% up, breaking a previous decline.
