The Indian government has cleared a Rs 70,000 crore package to revitalize the shipbuilding sector, granting infrastructure status to large ships and paving the way for easier financing and growth. This is projected to unlock 4.5 million GT of new capacity, generate 30 lakh jobs, and attract investments worth Rs 4.5 lakh crore.
