Japan's Topix reaches new high despite US pharma tariffs

Japan's Topix index closed at an all-time high of 3,198.43, up 0.4%, despite US tariffs on pharmaceuticals. The Nikkei fell 0.3% after hitting a record close, weighed down by chip-sector stocks.
