Mauritius President appoints Thakoor as Central Bank Governor

Mauritian President Dharambeer Gokhool appointed Priscilla Muthoora Thakoor as the new governor of the Bank of Mauritius, effective September 29, and Ramsamy Chinniah as second deputy governor, replacing Rama Krishna Sithanen and Gerard Sanspeur. Thakoor is the first woman to hold the post. The appointments aim to end internal conflict.
