Pharma index sees 2% decline; selloff may be overblown

US President Donald Trump's 100% tariff threat on branded and patented pharmaceutical products led to a 2.1% decline in NSE's Pharma index. Laurus Labs dropped 7.15% while Sun Pharma, the only major Indian company with significant patented sales in the US, fell 2.6%. Analysts consider the sell-off excessive as India's exposure is limited, with only 12% of Sun's US sales from patented products.
