Boeing settles lawsuit over whistleblower's 2024 suicide for $50,000

John Barnett, a former Boeing quality inspector and whistleblower, was awarded $50,000 in a wrongful death lawsuit settlement against the Boeing Company. Barnett died by alleged suicide in March 2024 amid a case alleging retaliation for flagging safety concerns at the company, which made Boeing's 787 Dreamliner in North Charleston, South Carolina, and 737 Max in Seattle.
