Japan's Nikkei falls amid ex-dividend shares, Sony Financial surges

The Nikkei 225 Index closed 0.7% lower at 45,043.75, down from the record-high close of 45,754.93, on Monday, with the Topix losing 1.7%. Sony Financial jumped 16% in its market debut, while Honda Motor and Mazda Motor were the biggest decliners, down 5.2% and 4.6% respectively, due to losing dividend entitlements and a strengthening yen.
