Freeport selling 12% of local arm to Indonesia

US miner Freeport-McMoRan agreed to give Indonesia a 12% share in its Indonesian unit, Freeport Indonesia, for free. CEO Kathleen Quirk made the deal with Rosan Roeslani, head of Danantara sovereign wealth fund, to extend the company's license for the Grasberg copper mine past 2041, as part of a deal previously delayed by tax and waste management issues.
