Nikkei falls to three-week low amid profit-taking

The Japanese Nikkei share average ended at a three-week low of 44,550.85, an 0.85% fall from its previous close. The broader Topix lost 1.37%. Investors booked profits, with Tokyo Electron and SoftBank Group losing 2.09% and 2.38% respectively. All but two sub-indexes on the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell, with banking index suffering the largest drop at 3.07%.
