Supreme Court to hear Vodafone Idea's AGR demand plea on October 6

Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) has filed a plea with the Supreme Court seeking to quash the additional AGR demands until 2016-17. The apex court, headed by CJI B R Gavai, has listed the plea for hearing on October 6. VIL owes Rs 5,606 crore to the Department of Telecommunications, which is part of a total AGR-related dues of Rs 93,520 crore that must be paid in yearly instalments till 2031.
