Labour MP calls for action over TCS job losses

Raja Ram Singh, a Lok Sabha MP, urged the Government to intervene in alleged "illegal lay-offs" at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and the Indian IT/ITES sector, citing mass retrenchments that may exceed 12,000 employees. The MP disputed TCS's "skill mismatch" justification, linking the cuts to a shift from growth to profit at any cost. Over 1.5 lakh workers were allegedly retrenched in 2024.
