Japan's Nikkei surges after Takaichi's election victory

Japan's Nikkei share gauge surged 3.9% to 47,566.84, the Nikkei surpassing 47,000 for the first time, after Sanae Takaichi was elected as Japan's next prime minister. Broader market gains included 2.3% increase in the Topix gauge. The yield on the two-year bond fell to 0.9% and the yen slid over 1% against the dollar. Takaichi plans to install a more expansionist fiscal and monetary agenda.
