Hong Kong stocks dip before holiday amid metals surge

Hong Kong stocks declined 0.67% with the Hang Seng Index down in the second session, led by the Automobile Index slipping 1.13% and tech shares falling 1.1%. Gold miners surged, with Shandong Gold Mining up 5.3%, Zijin Gold up 8.2%, and gold passing $3,900-an-ounce. Copper prices also rose, with MMG and Jiangxi Copper up 0.3% and 1.2% respectively.
