Railway shares surge on cabinet nod to new projects

Shares of state-run railway companies, IRCON International Ltd., Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd., (RVNL), RailTel Corp. of India Ltd., surged up to 6% after the Cabinet approved four new projects at the conclusion of its meeting on Tuesday, October 7, worth ₹24,634 crore, including lines worth ₹9,197 crore, ₹8,885 crore, ₹4,329 crore, and ₹2,223 crore.
