New Zealand dollar hits six-month low after interest rate cut

The New Zealand dollar reached a six-month low at $0.5747 after the Reserve Bank of New Zealand cut its cash rate by 50 basis points to 2.5%, a three-year low. The RBNZ left the door open for further cuts, with markets pricing in a quarter-point rate cut to 2.25% at the next meeting in November. Two-year swap rates dropped to 2.5419%, their lowest level since 2022.
