Bank Nifty breaches 56,600 with SBI, PNB leading gains

Bank Nifty index rose 0.76% to 56,617.65, driven by public sector lenders, with SBI and PNB shares rising over 2%, and Axis Bank gaining 1.45%. SBI was up 2.2% at Rs 881.25, while HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank modestly increased 0.5% and 0.44% respectively. Support seen in the 55,900-55,800 band, with resistance near 56,500-56,600.
