Metal stocks take a hit, fall up to 6%

The Nifty Metal index fell more than 1 percent, becoming the only sectoral loser in the market. Its key losers were Hindustan Copper (-6%), Hindustan Zinc (-4%), SAIL (-2%), NALCO (-2%), and several other metal companies due to a stronger dollar, which made metals more expensive for buyers using other currencies.
