India's jewellery exports hit by silver shortage talks

The GJEPC will meet silver jewellery exporters to discuss a severe silver shortage impacting exports. Silver prices hit a lifetime high of ₹1,85,000 per kg, up 106.24% in the current year, due to industrial demand and diversion of shipments to the US. Imports were restricted until March 2026, affecting India's silver jewellery exports which rose 17.43% in the first six months of the fiscal year.
