NASA to open SpaceX Moon landing contract to bidding

NASA plans to have other companies compete for a lunar lander contract after delaying the SpaceX Starship program. Acting administrator Sean Duffy opened the contract, citing concerns about the US falling behind China in the lunar mission. The contract is worth $4 billion, and NASA also has one with Blue Origin for $3.4 billion. The mission aims to return astronauts to the moon by 2027.
