Market volatility tests FII and Mutual fund strategies on IT stocks

India's domestic mutual fund managers countered Foreign Institutional Investors' 8 out of 10 top IT stocks sell-off, buying and increasing stakes in companies such as Infosys, HCL Tech, TCS, and Tech Mahindra. In the September quarter, domestic funds raised stakes by 1-2 percentage points while FIIs reduced theirs, in a trend driven by AI-led disruption, weak earnings, and global demand slowdown.
