Bank Nifty surges to new high led by HDFC, Axis, Kotak rallies

The Bank Nifty index reached a new all-time high at 58,555 points, rising 0.94% driven by strong Q2 earnings. Axis Bank gained 2% and Kotak Mahindra Bank 1.59%. Nitin Aggarwal, Motilal Oswal, predicts robust sector outlook with flattish growth in FY26, double-digit expansion in FY27. The Sensex rose 787 points to 85,213.6, and the Nifty 218.8 points to 26,087.4.
