Sebi suggests incentives for retail investors in debt markets

SEBI proposes incentives for senior citizens, women, and armed forces personnel to invest in public debt securities. Issuers can offer a higher coupon rate or discount on issue price. This aims to increase retail participation in the debt market, following a 57% decline in non-convertible debenture public issues to 81.49 billion rupees in 2025 from 191.68 billion rupees in 2024.
