FPIs switch from futures to cash market shares

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) purchased ₹10,339.8 crore in equity cash market on Tuesday, despite no major rebalancing or block deals. FPIs closed 122,914 futures contracts, converting them into delivery and inflating the buying figure. ₹9,500 crore remains unexplained. Stock deliveries increased, possibly due to FPIs taking delivery of shares after exercising futures.
