Wall Street closes with mixed results ahead of Nvidia earnings

The Nasdaq ended higher but the S&P 500 finished marginally weaker after a mixed day on Wall Street. Investors expect Nvidia's quarterly results, due next Wednesday, and are concerned about the Federal Reserve possibly not cutting U.S. interest rates in December amid signs of persistent inflation. The probability of a rate cut has fallen to under 50%.
