Rupee hits new low in market gain second week

The BSE Sensex index rose 669.14 points or 0.79 percent to close at 85,231.92, while Nifty50 increased 158.1 points or 0.61 percent to 26,068.15. Top gainers included Hero MotoCorp, Max Healthcare, Eicher Motors, and Bharti Airtel. The Indian rupee touched a record low of 89.48 against the dollar. FIIs sold equities worth Rs 188 crore, while DII bought Rs 12,969.03 crore.
