The Nifty registered losses for the 2nd day with a close just above the 4700 support.
There was lack of fresh buying support ahead of the futures and options expiry on
Thursday. The positive news regarding the passing of the Lokpal bill in the Lok
Sabha failed to lift the investor sentiment amid thin volumes due to reduced year-end
foreign institutional activity.
The Asian markets were a mixed bag with Shanghai closing marginally up, while
Nikkei, Kospi and Hang Seng lost around half percent.
The Asian markets were plagued by worries about deflation returning to haunt Japan
as factory production declined.
The European markets were up by around half percent, while US futures were trading
up by quarter percent. The Italian bond auction saw yields plunging to 3.25% as Italy
was able to sell 9 Billion euros of bills.
The Indian markets saw minor gains in the Capital Goods and Power sectors, while the
IT and Healthcare sectors were flat.
Metals and Banking sectors lost around 2%, while the Oil and Gas saw losses of 1.5%.
Among Nifty stocks, Infosys, NTPC, BHEL, Tata Power and Power Grid were the
leading movers.ICICI Bank, Reliance, ITC, Jindal Steel and Power and HDFC were on
the losing side.
Among Nifty junior stocks, Lupin, Dabur, Idea, IFCI and Dabur saw gains.
Asian Paints, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, indusind Bank and United Spirits saw
losses.

headed for its worst year since 2008, as the Bank of Japan warned of
downside risks to the economy and South Korean consumer confidence
slid. Both Nikkei and China slipped by 0.5% and 1% respectively against
the previous day's close.
European stocks advanced for a third day before reports that may show
house prices in U.S. cities fell at a slower pace and consumer confidence
climbed. CAC and DAX gained nearly 1% each against the previous day's
close.

Intra-Day Trading :
In general people on the street want to make big bucks overnight and resort to day trading. Day trading is like fighting a battle and to
win a battle you need to be equipped with the winning tools. Here we present some of the rules one must adhere to win or to survive.
• Determine the amount one can afford losing in a day. • Do not bet entire amount on a single trade. Divide the amount you can lose in few equal numbers
of trades. • Stop trading for the day if you have lost the entire amount you allocated for the day. • Keep reasonable profit to loss ratio. Profit expected from
the trade must be higher than the amount you are ready to lose on the trade. The ratio of 1.5 to 2 is advisable. Do not enter the trade if this condition is not
satisfied. • Always trade with the trend. Never enter into a trade which is against the larger trend. Avoid trading for the minor pullback or correction. • Keep
reasonable stop loss levels and follow them very strictly. • Never let a profit turn into losses, means keep trailing stop loss. • Do not get emotional with the
fundamentals in day trading.
