Dealer's Diary
Sensex declined 98 points to close at 28902 and Nifty slipped 23 points
to close at 8924. There was profit booking in the market. Nifty touched
day's high of 8957 and low of 8892 while opening flat at 8951. Weak
Asian and US markets have pulled down the market. Moreover, five
State Assembly election results will be important for the market. Exit
poll likely to be announced tomorrow and Assembly election results
will be announced on 11th March. Metal, Tech, Realty, Oil & Gas and
Capital Goods stocks declined while select pharma and banking stocks
gained.
Bharat Finance surged 4% to close at Rs842 after the media news that
the company is likely to merge with IndussInd Bank. Airlines stocks
like IndiGo and Jet Airlines gained 2% and 3% respectively after the
media news that the Delhi government to cut tax on ATF to 1% from
25% to India's northeastern region. Both Alembic and Natco Pharma
gained 2% each after the Delhi High Court allows export of Rivaroxaban
API for research and development purposes. Metal stocks declined in
the last couple of days on account of fall in global metal price. Vedanta,
Hindalco, Tata Steel, JSW Steel and Jindal Steel & Power declined 2-
3%. HPCL, BPCL and IOC and IOC declined 1-2%.

Technical Outlook
'Nifty has been consolidating in between 8860 to 9000 zone from last
eleven trading sessions and is awaiting a decisive range breakout to
commence the next leg of rally. During the day it fell towards 8900 but
recovered some of its intraday losses in the second half of the session.
Now if it sustains below 8920 then it may correct towards next support
of 8860 and 8820 while holding above 9000 would start the fresh up
move towards 9119.

Nifty gyrated in the band of 8900-8980 and ended marginal negative by
0.2%. India Vix increased by 1.5% to 14.1%. Further move above 15%
could see volatility inching higher.March series option data depicts
fresh addition in OTM calls of 9000-9300 and OTM put of 8900-8600 PE.
Option indicative band stays at 8800-9000. Stock specific buying was
witnessed in NBFC stocks like Bharatfin, Bjajafin; Pvt banks like Yesbank
and Kotakbank. Selling was witnessed in Metal stocks like Hindalco,
Vedl and Tatasteel.
