Dealer's Diary
Market halted after a rally of three trading sessions. Profit booking
pulled down Nifty by 25 points to close at 10716. Nifty mid-cap and
small cap stocks declined sharply and both the Indices declined over
1.5% each. Disappointing quarterly results and rising oil price have a
negative impact in the market. Moreover, Karnataka Assembly election
result outcome keeps the market cautious. Pharma, Banks, Metal, FMCG
and Auto stocks were major losers today. Select Tech and upstream oil
companies gained. Nifty 500 stocks advance decline ratio was 1:5.
Among the global markets, Both Asian and European market gained
after a positive session on Wall Street. Federal Bank declined 12% to
close at Rs89. Company announced poor Q4 result. Indian Bank slipped
8% to close at Rs314 on account of lower than expected Q4 net profit
and poor asset quality. Pharma stocks like Strides Shasun nosedived
8% to close at Rs528. Sun Pharma, Cipla, Dr Reddy declined 2-4%.
Banking and NBFC stocks like SBI, BoB, BoI, PNB, Yes Bank, Shriram
Transport, India Bull Housing and Bajaj Finance declined 1-4%. Upstream
oil companies like ONGC gained 3% to close at Rs188 on account of
benefit of increased oil price. Tech stocks Hexaware gained 3% to close
at Rs416. USDINR surged to 15-month high of 67.29.

Technical Outlook
Nifty index opened positive but failed to surpass 10785 zones and
corrected towards 10700 zones. It formed a Dark Cloud Cover on the
daily scale and finding supply near to previous week's high of 10784
marks. It is finding absence of follow up buying at higher levels but
supports are also intact as it has been making higher highs - higher
lows on weekly scale. Now till it continues to holds above 10680, it can
extend its up move towards 10780 then 10800 zones while a hold below
10680 could drag it towards major support of 10638 - 10600 zones.

Nifty future closed negative with the loss of 0.41% at 10725. On the
option front, Maximum Put OI is at 10500 followed by 10600 strike
while maximum Call OI is at 11000 followed by 10900 strike. We have
seen Put writing at 10700 while Call writing is seen at 11000 then 10900
strikes. Option data suggests an immediate trading range between
10650 to 10850 zones. India VIX moved up by 1.09% at 14.43. Volatility
has been moving upwards from last eight consecutive sessions from
12.02 to 14.43 levels. Built up of long position were seen in Hexaware
and ONGC while shorts were seen in Federal Bank, Ambujacem, Orient
Bank, Voltas, Drreddy, BHEL, Siemens, SRF and Union Bank.
