Dealer's Diary
A sharp declined in Tech, Auto, Realty and NBFC stocks pulled down
Nifty 149 points (1.5%) to close at 10304. Nifty nosedived 250 points
(2.5%) in the two consecutive days. Reliance, HDFC, ACC, Yes Bank,
Infosys, Tata Motors and HCL Tech were major losers in the Sensex.
Individual stocks hammered drastically especially NBFC and Real Estate
counters like PNB Housing (down 18%), Indiabull Housing (down 17%),
Dewan Housing, SREI Infra, Gruh Finance, PEL (declined 8-12%). Higher
cost of fund, slower growth and difficult to borrowed money from
banks or other financial institution which are major reasons pulled
down NBFC stocks. Tech stocks slipped after MindTree reported poor
Q2 results and media news of US may change HIVisa rules. Disappointing
quarterly results pulled down Cement stocks and Reliance Indutries .
All in all these factors have a negative sentiment in the market. On the
other hand, few domestic cues are positive like USDINR, 10-year G-Sec
Yield and Brent Crude fell to nearly one month low. FMCG stocks
witnessed fresh buying. Among the global markets, Asian markets like
China, Hong Kong Index gained over one and half percent after China
announced inline with Bloomberg street estimates of GDP number.
European market declined nearly half percent each. Both Dewan
Housing and India Bull Housing slipped 11% and 17% to close 2-year
low at Rs211 and Rs654 respectively.
