GIFT City bond market remains institution-driven

K Rajaraman, IFSCA Chairman, said the GIFT City bond market is largely institutional with around 57 issuances raising $7 billion in FY24-25. Total outstanding bond issuances stand at $68 billion, including $16 billion in green, social, and sustainable bonds. IFSCA enhanced disclosure and rating norms, and offers a 9% withholding tax concession for foreign investors and NRIs.
