Claims surge 11% to Rs 94,248 crore in FY25

India's health insurance sector saw an 11% jump in claim payouts in FY25, with Rs 94,248 crore paid for 3.26 crore claims. Cashless settlements dominated, accounting for 58% of claims. Government schemes covered 42.3% of lives and group policies contributed 52.3% of premiums. The incurred claims ratio improved to 86.98% from 88.15% last year.
