SEBI introduces framework for foreign investors to simplify entry process

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) rolled out the SWAGAT-FI framework to simplify registration and compliance for foreign investors. A unified registration process for Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) and Foreign Venture Capital Investors (FVCIs) reduces repeated compliance and documentation. Benefits apply to existing and new eligible investors from June 1, 2026.
